A Brilliant Day at the NFRS Rat Show in Rutherglen, Glasgow
This weekend we headed north to the NFRS (National Fancy Rat Society) rat show at Rutherglen United Reformed Church in Glasgow, and what an amazing, community-filled day it turned out to be! As always, the NFRS team put on a welcoming, well-organised event full of gorgeous rats, passionate keepers, and tonnes of enrichment inspiration — and we were thrilled to be part of it.
A Warm Welcome (and Even Warmer Soup!)
One of the highlights of the day — besides the rats, of course — was Louise’s tasty lentil soup. It’s comfort in a cup and the perfect mid-show pick-me-up. It definitely kept us going between chatting, browsing, and admiring all the beautiful mischiefs attending.
Meeting Dwarf Rats & Their Owners
We had a lovely chance to meet four dwarf rats at the show — two owned by Louise and two by Kasia. They were absolutely adorable and full of tiny personality. Seeing such a variety of rats at events like this is one of the reasons we love NFRS shows so much; they’re the perfect place to learn about different types, temperaments, and care needs while surrounded by people who are just as passionate about rats as we are.
Our Sleigh Beds: Sold Out in a Flash!
As for the Mischief Made stall — wow! Our hanging sleigh beds were a huge hit and sold out very quickly. We brought a selection from our Christmas range, and it was so lovely hearing how much people enjoy adding festive fun to their cages. We also had a great time chatting about enrichment, cage setups, and all things hammocks, ledges, and accessories.
